Successful plant sale raises funds for continued river restoration

An amazing, record breaking amount of £950.00 was raised at the plant sale on 18th April. A very big thank you to everyone who was involved, especially Jan Varney for the hours that she has spent nurturing the plants and expertly answering questions at the sale.

It was a beautiful sunny day and villagers flocked to the Duck Pond and were not only delighted to see the array of plants and ceramic pots on display but were entertained by baby ducklings and moorhen chicks on the river.

The funds will be used for continuing the river restoration and the purchasing of further aquatic plants.

We were very pleased to meet so many returning customers from last year’s sale and grateful for their donations, thanks and enthusiasm. Many villagers told us they have been following our work over the past 3 years and are delighted at the improvements we have made to the Duck Pond, Brookside and Swan Lane.

Look forward to seeing you at next year’s sale!
