At the end of August and beginning of September volunteers spent two mornings improving the river flow speed in Brookside/Church Lane by placing 5 bags of 40 mm and 20 mm gravel along the bottom of the road bank.
They also drove Chestnut stakes into the river bed and laid faggots between them to shore up the crumbling bank by the BT Exchange.
