Natural water supply from Seven Springs stopped running

During the past week the Seven Springs have stopped running and the natural river water supplying the New River has dried up. We are now 100% reliant on the water being pumped from the Snailwell Borehole by the Environment Agency.

The pump initially was one hour on and one hour off but this was extended in early August to 15 hours over a 24 hour period. It is hoped that this new regime will reduce the buildup of silt that has happened over previous years.
